My grandmother, Beverly Gleason has a painting of Walter Coapman. They were most definitely Dutch, from Holland, and I may have access to the family tree. My grandmother is 84 and is a born Coapman, if you would like to connect please email me - gleate20@gmail.com. We are not in the Yawger family, but enjoy the home a great deal. Many people who lived in the area long enough remember "the haunted house," which was abandoned from the 1950s-1970s. In 1976, the house was purchased and renovated greatly. The original Greek Revival columns remain.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1906415819434743556.post-1150948564429607922009-07-27T14:14:23.817-07:002009-07-27T14:14:23.817-07:00Please check the 1855 New York State Census for th...Please check the 1855 New York State Census for the birth County of your Jacob Coapman. There is also a Jacob Coapman buried on Lot 5 of the Waggoner Patent on NYS Route 80, about five miles of Fort Plain, New York. This said Jacob Coapman was a son of Major Abraham Coapman of the Canajoharie District of Tryon County Militia (appointed major in 1780). They are buried in the Lakeview Cemetery in the Village of Cayuga. From my research notes I have tentatively identified Obadiah J. Downing and Lydia Titus as her parents. George H. Downing and Phebe Downing as her siblings. I found your comments online regarding Lydia and a mention of George. If you could share any additional information on Lydia Titus and her family it would be very appreciated.

I noted your reference to the Greek Revival home near Union Springs. I have vivid memories of the building since we passed it on our many trips from Auburn to Ithaca. It was abandoned in the 1950's and yet was still majestic with its large columns.debplughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12666525631411312342noreply@blogger.com
